Acclaimed actor Florence Pugh has urged her fans to watch Seaspiracy to ‘help our oceans’.

The Little Women star plugged the documentary to her 2.2 million Instagram followers.

Florence Pugh: I’m still in shock

“We watched this documentary last night and went to bed ranting,” Pugh wrote.

“[I’m] still in shock hours later. [It’s] eye-opening. To help our oceans… the first step is to watch this documentary.”

Pugh’s boyfriend Zach Braff – who rose to fame due to his appearance on Scrubs – also praised the documentary.

He told his 1.4 million Instagram followers: “I can’t stop thinking about this movie. Watch it. Share it.”

Seaspiracy

The film, produced by Cowspiracy’s sheds light on the ‘war being waged’ on the world’s oceans – delving into the fishing industry’s environmental impacts on marine life.

Since its debut, Seaspiracy has received a flurry of support from celebrities, has garnered global media attention, and appears to be changing peoples’ perception of seafood.

Leading publication Vogue – who has long promoted fish as a ‘sustainable’ ingredient – declared the film ‘will change your thoughts on seafood forever’.

Similarly, UK news giant Metro published a list of vegan alternatives to seafood in an article headlined: “Did Seaspiracy put you off fish?”
