Beyond Meat CEO Ethan Brown has announced he expects to see his famous plant-based patty appear on the menu at popular fast food chains including McDonald’s, Burger King, and Wendy’s.
According to Brown, he is ‘confident’ the patty will become extremely mainstream.
Speaking in an interview with entrepreneur.com, he said: “I’m very confident that’s going to happen [becoming available at McDonald’s etc] , because I think the consumer is turning so quickly.
“We are not telling people not to eat meat – I think that would be a massive mistake – we’re simply suggesting that they have a new type of meat, just plant-based.
“Once we break the code and get to the point where it’s indistinguishable from animal protein, I think you will see that shift.”

The patty is already available at around 9,000 dining and retail outlets.
This includes more than 450 branches of TGI Fridays across the States.
Back in October, Beyond Meat said the patty will launch in the UK in the ‘first quarter’ of 2018 – but the company has not revealed further details since then.
