<p>Richard Makin is the founder of the successful blog "The School Night Vegan". </p><p>My name’s Richard Makin and I’m the School Night Vegan.</p><p>Richard has been exploring the world of plant-based cuisine since November 2017 when he switched from life-long vegetarian to full-time vegan! Back then he worked in street food, running London’s first artisan ice cream sandwich van, so his weekends were usually way too busy for cooking. This meant that all his school nights became <em>vegan</em> nights!</p><p>As a long-time foodie, Richard had developed some pretty good cooking skills, but turning vegan was a whole new challenge! Richard had to retrain himself to cook without animal products. It was a surprisingly rewarding learning curve! Makin is now a food stylist and recipe developer specialising in animal-free dishes.</p><p>School Night Vegan is essentially his food journal, documenting the meals he makes and the stuff he learns.</p>
