Vice President of the US Kamala Harris has visited a vegan taco restaurant and is ‘dabbling in veganism’, according to a new report.

The politician was spotted in TACOTARIAN – a plant-based eatery in Las Vegas – alongside Second Gentleman of the US Doug Emhoff.

She reportedly ordered two ‘super’ tacos, two carne asada tacos, and two mushroom tacos. Staff says they ‘threw in some desserts’ for free, in case Harris has a ‘sweet tooth’.

‘Dabbling in veganism’

“Thank you so much for stopping in today and for being so kind in talking with us, our staff and our customers,” Tacotarian said.

“Everyone on your team was so kind. We’re excited to hear you’re dabbling in veganism (at least before 6 PM) and we hope you continue on that journey.

“And of course thanks to Senator Cory Booker for always supporting us and giving the VP the recommendation. We’ve been so lucky in our journey thus far and we can’t wait to see what our future holds.”

Kamala Harris

Recently, Harris has been under growing pressure to promote plant-based diets and go vegan.

Earlier this year, the JIVINITI Women’s Foundation called on the administration to take a plant-based approach to tackle COVID-19, and address food insecurity, chronic illness, racial and gender-based structural inequality, and climate change.

It has received support from Borough President of Brooklyn Eric Adams. In a statement sent to PBN, he said: “I wholeheartedly support the coalition in initiating these vital conversations focused on women of color in the US. And, for marginalized women worldwide.

“We must turn food deserts into food oases, particularly in communities of color where nutritional foods are scarce.

“Switching to a whole-food, plant-based diet taught me about the transformative power of what’s on our dinner plate. With the new Biden-Harris Administration in office, it’s time we take this conversation nationally.”

JIVINITI’s petition urging Harris to go vegan has now exceeded 4,000 signatures.
