A new soy-free ‘tofu’ made from 100 percent pumpkin seeds is available online and in stores across the US.
Pumfu, made by Foodies Vegan, was originally unveiled at March’s Expo West 2019, an event which showcases vegan products before they arrive in stores or eateries.
Soy-free tofu
According to Foodies Vegan, the product is soy, nut, and gluten-free. It is certified organic.
There are two servings in a container, each of which contains 320-calories, 17 grams of protein, and 5 grams of fiber.
“Soy-free tofu is now a thing,” Foodies Vegan wrote on Instagram. “[It] uses organic pumpkin seeds to create this protein-packed product.
Foodies Vegan
According to the Foodies Vegan website: “We eat, live, and breathe plant based food – but the good stuff, the recipes that are passed down from generations; the dishes that aren’t made with fillers and preservatives; the scrumptious foods that don’t just fill our bellies, but feed the soul.
“As a big family, we understand the importance of nutrition, without compromising on flavor. That’s why we’re committed to using only the freshest of ingredients that are meat and dairy-free. Our unique recipes are full of big delicious flavors that pack a nutritional punch.”
