Spider-Man: Brand New Day actor Tom Holland has said that he cooks veggie recipes for Zendaya, who “doesn’t eat meat.”

Holland made the comments in a two-part episode of the Dish podcast in July, during a discussion about his brother Sam’s new Kitchen Kickstart cookbook.

In part two, which was posted on YouTube last week, Dish hosts Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett asked Holland about his favorite of Sam’s recipes.

According to Holland, the beginner-friendly Kitchen Kickstart is primarily “for uni kids, really, to kind of learn how to cook and batch cook and shop, you know, responsibly.”

He said, “It has been so helpful for me. I know I’m 13, 14 years beyond my uni years, but it’s been so good to learn how to cook.”

Holland added, “There’s a great veggie section in there. So for me, obviously Z doesn’t eat meat, so cooking veggie dishes at home has been really, really lovely.”

Holland recently confirmed in an interview with Esquire that he and Zendaya, who met on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming a decade ago, are now married.

The actors both star in Spider-Man: Brand New Day (alongside Sadie Sink) as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and MJ, respectively, and in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey. The films are two of the three biggest domestic box office hits of the summer.

‘My main reason for being vegetarian is that I’m an animal lover’

Zendaya, who also stars in Denis Villeneuve’s upcoming Dune: Part Three, has followed a vegetarian diet since she was just 11 years old.

In a 2016 interview with People, she said, “My main reason for being vegetarian is that I’m an animal lover – definitely not because I love vegetables.”

She explained that she made the choice to go veggie after passing a slaughterhouse. “I thought it was awful, all those animals getting packed up in there waiting to be killed,” Zendaya said. “I couldn’t believe that’s how I’d been getting my meat.”
