Animal rights organization People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals [PETA] has released its animal rights news predictions for 2018 exclusively to PBN.
As ‘turbulent 2017 draws to a close’, PETA’s senior management team has put together a list of what to expect the New Year will bring for the animals.
PETA President Ingrid Newkirk said: “From designers going fur-free to abusement parks going under, PETA toasts with some (vegan) bubbly all the victories for animals we foresee in 2018.
“And while animal rights proponents are buckling down to make these victory predictions come true, everyone can be a hero for animals simply by going vegan in the new year.”

Predictions
– Texas A&M University will end its muscular dystrophy experiments on dogs.
– One of Vice President Mike Pence’s daughters will go vegan.
– A major U.S. city will switch to using silent laser light shows instead of fireworks.
– An animal will be named Time magazine’s Person of the Year.
– SeaWorld will go animal-free or shut down.
– A European fashion house will go leather-free.
– No Hollywood films made in 2018 will use live animals.
– In the U.K., faux fur will replace bear fur on the queen’s guards’ hats.
– The Australian wool industry will collapse.
– U.S. sales of nondairy milk will surpass those of dairy milk.
– The mutation of a factory farm virus will cause a major public-health scare (not considered a victory).
Other recent prognosis for 2018 include: plant-based protein and dairy will be top food trends in the new year; the meat industry will be struggling due to an ‘assault by demon vegans‘ being of major concern; 2018 is also the year when veganism goes mainstream, according to Tesco’s Director of Plant-Based Innovation Derek Sarno.
