Tel Aviv is expecting 30,000 people at what is predicted to be the world’s largest animal rights march.

The protest – which will advocate against animal cruelty in the food, entertainment, research, and fashion sectors – will be held in the Israeli city on September 9.

Demonstrators will march from Meir Park to Rabin Square in potentially the world’s biggest animal rights protest in history.

Tradition

The march is sponsored by VeganFriendly, an Israeli nonprofit that has supported the Tel Aviv protest since 2015.

Founder of VeganFriendly Omri Paz said: “There is a tradition here. Israel is the most vegan nation on earth.”

About five percent of Israelis are estimated to be following a plant-based diet.

“Morality is the main reason Israelis become vegan,” added Paz.

President of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals [PETA] Ingrid Newkirk will be speaking at Rabin Square tomorrow.

Vegan global animal rights activist James Aspey – who recently promoted veganism on Israeli television – will also be attending the event.

The demonstration’s theme this year is ‘It’s in our hands’.

The event is tomorrow, September 9, at 8:30pm.
