Vegan Star Lucy Watson Says Therapy Is ‘The Best Thing Anyone Can Do’

Vegan celebrity Lucy Watson has spoken out about the power of counselling, in an interview with Happiful Magazine.

Watson told the magazine – the only title in the UK which focuses on mental health – how having regular counselling has had a positive impact on her life.

According to the author, businesswoman and animal rights activist, she undertook counselling sessions to help her with relationships, work and to better understand her emotions.

In a statement sent to Plant Based News, Watson said: “I hate to think people are out there with problems, who don’t feel comfortable talking to friends or family, and don’t know what to do or where to turn.

“I would recommend counselling to anyone. It’s the best thing you could ever do for yourself.”

Watson says she initially started counselling at a young age, when her parents separated, adding that it was her last counsellor, around three years ago, who proved particularly helpful at ‘untangle her thoughts and understand what they mean’.

Diet and exercise

Watson also spoke about how her vegan diet and yoga regime have a positive impact on her outlook.

A devoted foodie, she has authored two cookbooks, and opened a vegan eatery Tell Your Friends with her sister Tiffany in west London.

“In terms of my general well being and energy, I feel so much better for what I’m eating and probably do feel happier,” she said. “When you have more energy and feel good, it obviously affects your mood.”
