Vegan celebrity Mayim Bialik has shared her immediate reaction to the Kavanaugh hearings online.

In a YouTube video released Saturday, the PhD holder and Big Bang Theory star discusses four things ‘that came up’ for her during the hearings.

The highly publicized conflict is the result of sexual assault allegations made against Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford.

In the video, Bialik discusses drinking culture, prosecutor Rachel Mitchell’s approach, connecting with strangers over the events, and similarities between Ford’s situation and that of Anita Hill – the attorney and academic who who accused Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas of sexual assault in 1991.

Bialik intended to include five items in the video, but notes that her editor told her to omit one.

‘I expect more’

Near the end of the video, Bialik says: “There are things that can still unite us and that the voices of women still need to be heard is something that many of us can agree on, and that gives me hope on a day when I sometimes felt kind of hopeless.

“Again, not about Kavanaugh, not about Ford, not just about this situation – but about the way we talk about women in general, about the lack of expectations we have for men in general.

“I expect more, and I think you do to – of all of us.”
