Animal rights charity PETA has announced the winners of its annual ‘Hottest Vegan‘ competition.
Ciarán O’Shea, 22, and Cath Kendall, 29, clinched top honours in PETA‘s UK and Ireland’s Hottest Vegan Competition 2018.
Their prize includes a trip for two on the luxury five-night Christmas Markets cruise on Germany and Switzerland’s Rhine and Moselle rivers, courtesy of Vegan Travel.
Promoting vegan
According to Ciarán O’Shea, a pilot, he is able to advocate for veganism at work, encouraging his employer to increase the availability of vegan options on board flights, including by stocking non-dairy milk, and to reduce its plastic use. He added: “I have a job which allows me to meet a lot of people, almost all of whom I talk to about [being vegan].”
Support worker Cath Kendall, who went vegan the day she found out about systematic animal abuse in the dairy industry, is involved in animal rights activism and blogs about cruelty-free living.
PETA Director, Elisa Allen, said: “Our two winners are living proof that a clear conscience and a compassionate heart are the hidden ingredients of hotness. PETA encourages everyone inspired by their integrity and vitality to follow their lead and give going vegan a try.”
