The UK’s first vegan members’ club will open in East London next month.
The BRIGHT Club, which is being opened by the team behind BRIGHT Zine, will give members access to a private co-working space as well as exclusive events.
Its mission is to ‘support and nurture vegan businesses through networking, co-working and collaboration in order to create a hub for London’s vegan community based on ethical and sustainable values’.
Membership
According to BRIGHT, membership is only available to ‘individuals that are vegan or businesses that are in some way supporting veganism’. Those interested in membership can apply online where their application will be vetted.
The organization adds that there will be a specific focus on ‘giving young vegan startups the tools that they need to progress including access to potential investors such as BRAN Investments, which has invested in BRIGHT to open this space as the first of a UK-wide network of vegan membership clubs.
The space will be available to rent to individuals and businesses that align with BRIGHT’s mission, and members and non-members will be able to access events hosted there. BRIGHT will be hosting regular events including talks, panels, networking events, yoga clubs, and more.
‘Supporting vegan businesses’
“I created BRIGHT Zine after a decade of veganism, to shine a light on the amazing things people are doing,” Laura Callan, founder of BRIGHT, said in a statement sent to Plant Based News.
“As the vegan community has grown over recent years we thought it would be incredible to have a space to nurture the community and support vegan businesses. So the idea of The BRIGHT Club was born!”
“We are extremely excited to be supporting BRIGHT Zine on the next phase of their journey,” Manish Karani, Investment Advisor to BRAN Investments, added. “We feel we have built an investment portfolio of some of the market leading vegan businesses across the UK, and we are excited to invest in more of these. We believe The BRIGHT Club will be a great platform for plant based businesses to further excel and continue to drive the movement.”
The BRIGHT Club will be housed at the same location as The BRIGHT Store which opened in early May as an ethical lifestyle store and vegan cafe.
