Taiwan held its first ever animal rights march this weekend – with 150 people braving the rain in a bid to speak up for the voiceless.

Protesters at the march chanted slogans, including ‘Animals are not a number’ through megaphones, as well as ‘Animals are our friends’.

The march was organized by prominent Taiwan-based group Vegan30.

Vegan advocates took to the Xinyi Shopping District, one of Taipei’s busiest and most famous shopping areas.

The march was also attended by famous vegan Taiwanese rapper Dwagie (??), who previously wrote the ‘song of the slaughterhouse’ to raise awareness of the plight of farmed animals.
