Celeb Robbie Williams is now ‘doing very well’ after adopting a ‘plant-based lifestyle’ following a mystery illness, says wife Ayda Field.

Williams, who revealed he ditched animal products earlier this fall after suddenly falling ill, is ‘in a good place’ following the dietary shift.

Wife Ayda Field spoke on ITV show Loose Women today, saying: “Robbie was very ill, but now he’s on the tail end of that, doing very well.”

Plant-based

She added: “We’re in a good place now. He has embraced a plant-based lifestyle and he’s doing yoga and pilates.

“He’s like the girl that I would like to be.”

Field claimed documentary What The Health triggered the switch.

She said: “We watched What The Health, which is a plant-based documentary that encourages you to eat plant-based, so what we did was we went to Shake Shack and had one last meal.

“I do it [the plant-based diet] on the weekdays, when someone is watching… When Robbie was explaining it, he said he was vegan and I was like, ‘Babe you’re wearing a leather jacket, you’re not vegan’.”

Illness

The 43-year-old former Take That star was rushed into intensive care after falling ill this September – and had to postpone several dates from ‘The Heavy Entertainment Show Tour’.

Williams took to YouTube in October to update his fans on his recovery, saying: “Now I am vegan.

“I do pilates every day, I do yoga every day, and have a really big burger on a Sunday.”
