Musician Paul McCartney has appeared on an emotional episode of Carpool Karaoke hosted by The Late Late Show’s James Corden.

The pair drive around McCartney‘s native Liverpool visiting now-iconic locations including Penny Lane, as they sing music by The Beatles including Let It Be, Blackbird, and Penny Lane.

It was during the rendition of Let It Be that Corden started crying, saying: “If my grandfather were here right now he’d get an absolute kick out of this.”McCartney reassures him, saying: “He is.”

Meat-free

The pair have a major thing in common – neither eat meat. Paul McCartney, who has been rumored to be vegan for some time, has been an outspoken vegetarian advocate for many years.

James Corden recently announced that he ditched meat after reading about animal abuse. He said: I was upset about animal welfare while eating a bacon sandwich. I thought, ‘well, you really can’t be upset about elephants and not think about the pigs’.”

He still has some way to go, admitting that he still eats fish, but is planning to phase it out. He said: “It’s going to be a gradual process. I hope I can keep it up. I will certainly try.”
