People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals [PETA] has sent Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton a vegan hamper to help him transition to a plant-based diet.

The animal rights organization sent him a vegan fajita kit, because he once said that he makes a ‘mean chicken fajita’.

Hamilton has previously stated that he is on a mission to switch to a vegan diet for reasons of ‘animal cruelty, global warming and our personal health’.

The vegan goodies hamper included vegan chicken pieces, Cheddar-style grated cheese, and other plant-based Mexican necessities.

PETA founder Ingrid Newkirk said: “With so many vegan foods on track to beat the competition, eating meat, eggs, and dairy “products” is like having a flat on race-day.

“A vegan diet is a winning formula for animals, the environment, and our health.”
