Vegan actor James Cromwell – best known by many for his performance in movie Babe – has filmed an advert encouraging people to go vegan.

The Oscar-nominated thespian – who’s been vegetarian since the 1970s and vegan since 1995 – joined forces with animal rights charity PETA to create the ad, which shows off his less serious side.

In the video, Cromwell lists the reasons to go vegan, saying: “You’ve been told that animal agriculture is the leading cause of climate change, and that going vegan lowers your chances of suffering from heart disease, cancers, strokes, and diabetes. And that it’s the best way to end animal suffering.

“Despite that, you still haven’t done it.”

Cromwell adds: “So what if an Academy Award-nominated actor with a really deep, gravelly voice did this?”

After inhaling on a helium balloon, he concludes (in a much higher pitch): “Seriously – what else do you need to hear? Go vegan.

“Seriously, it’s wonderful stuff.”
