Vegan celebrity, Miley Cyrus, has announced her adopted pig Bubba Sue, commonly referred to as Pig Pig, has sadly passed away.
The star, who frequently speaks out about veganism, adopted her pig back in 2014, following the passing of her pet dog Floyd.
‘I will miss you always’
“Very sad to say… my dear friend Pig Pig has passed away…. I will miss [you] always,” Cyrus wrote on her Instagram story. “Thank you for so many laughs and good times girl.”
Bubba Sue, who often appeared on the singer’s social media, was also featured on the cover of Paper Magazine back in 2015.
‘A strong voice for the animals’
Cyrus was given the ‘Celebrity Advocate Award’ last year at the Animal Rights National Conference for having ‘a strong voice for the animals’.
Organizers of the conference said the star ‘not only talks the talk but walks the walk of the vegan lifestyle’.
In a statement to Plant Based News, event organizers said: “The Celebrity Advocate Award is given to a celebrity that has used their powerful voice to strengthen the movement.
“In the past, this award has been given to activists such as Alicia Silverstone, Moby, James Cromwell, Casey Kasem, Jackson Galaxy, & Bill Maher.
“This year the conference is hoping to award singer & activist Miley Cyrus for her amazing work promoting animal rights at the banquet on Saturday, June 30.”
