The effect the animal agriculture
industries are having on the planet are devastating. For this reason, it’s
becoming clear that meat and dairy taxation is necessary.

It’s estimated by researchers at the Oxford Martin
Programme on the Future of Food that a meat taxation of 40% and a
dairy taxation of 20% is necessary to offset the carbon footprint of the animal
agriculture industry.

Earlier this year, it was announced that the Danish government are considering implementing a tax on beef. This backs up proposals by UN expert Professor Maarten Haajer, who recently called for a worldwide tax on all meat.

Meanwhile in China, The Ministry of Health urged citizens to limit product consumption, with the aim of reducing meat consumption by 50%.
