Celebrity tattooist and beauty mogul Kat Von D is to launch her vegan shoe line next month.
Von D Shoes will release its first 13 styles on World Vegan Day, November 1, offering size 5-12 in most styles, as well as a few styles available in men’s sizes.
All shoes from the brand will be 100 percent cruelty-free and vegan, using materials such as recycled rubber, coated canvas, faux fur, animal-free suede, and vegan leather made from apples.
Some of the proceeds from select shoes will be donated to no-kill animal shelters.
‘Legendary shoemakers’
“Like every project, Kat is part of the entire creative process,” the company said. “From designing the shoes by hand, to selecting fabrics and hardware, box design, logos, tissue paper design, to art directing and producing the campaigns.”
“Shoes are made in Florence, Italy, in the home of legendary shoemakers, and Von D shoes are made in the same factories as Jimmy Choo, Gucci, [and] Louibiton.
Kat Von D added: “Von D shoes isn’t just about making beautiful shoes to wear — I wanted to make it easy for people to live a compassionate, cruelty-free life, regardless of whether they’re vegan or not.”
