Kat Von D has shared more details about her upcoming vegan shoe collection – revealing that some designs will be equipped with a hidden lipstick compartment.
The line, which is a self-funded venture called Von D Shoes, will boast 28 different styles.
Von D Shoes is being produced in Italy using high-tech leather alternatives, with the help of fashion designer Rebecca Mink.
Leather alternatives
The tattoo artist and makeup mogul said she is currently looking at innovative leather substitutes.
“I’m not interested in looking at cheap plastics,” Von D told media outlet Racked.
“We’re looking at all these innovative, different leather substitutes that are made out of mushroom and pineapple, and they’re actually great for the environment and look equal to, if not better, than leather.”
The 35-year-old star previously shared a sneak peek of the shoes on social media, showing off unique heels in sculpted, pointed shapes.
