Oscar Nominated Actor James Cromwell Honored For His Vegan Activism

Oscar Nominated Actor James Cromwell is being honored for his work fighting for animals.

The star of movie Babe will receive the ‘Hero to Animals Award’ from animal rights charity PETA.

He decided to ditch animal products after acting in the iconic movie – and learning more about animals. Since then, he has been a passionate and outspoken advocate.

Arrest

According to a PETA spokesperson, the star – who is well known for his role in TV show American Horror Story – has worked with the organization on a number of campaigns.

They added: “He teamed up with PETA to take over SeaWorld’s ‘Orca Encounter’ show [resulting in his arrest], narrated gripping exposés of cruelty in the horse-racing and pig factory farming industries, and marched against experiments on cats at the University of Wisconsin and monkey shipments by Air France.

PETA Honorary Director, Nanci Alexander, said: “We’re honoring James Cromwell for his unerring social activism for animals.

“He offers a strong and clear voice of freedom for captive marine mammals, cats and primates held in laboratory cages, and pigs who are abused and slaughtered for food. 

“His kindness to all beings, great and small, makes the world a better place.”

Cromwell will receive the award atSublime Restaurant & Bar in Fort Lauderdale later today.
