Celebrity musician and social advocate Jaden Smith has teamed up with plant-based restaurant Cafe Gratitude to donate 10,000 meals to those in need.

The star has co-created the I LOVE YOU Bowl – featuring brussel sprouts, butternut squash, forbidden black rice, and quinoa – which is now available at Cafe Gratitude.

The collaboration aims to serve 10,000 bowls in house, and then to donate 10,000 free meals on Skid Row from Jaden’s I LOVE YOU truck in 2020.

‘I feel nourished’

Speaking about the bowl on Instagram, Jaden said: “When I eat it I feel nourished, I feel happy, I feel healthy.

“When I was younger I shot a movie called The Pursuit of Happyness with my father and throughout the process of that movie we actually worked with a lot of homeless people.

“Seeing it in real life, that’s what really made me decide to create the I LOVE YOU food truck – for something just to give back to the community.”

Ryan Engelhart, Chief Inspiration Officer, and Co-Owner of Cafe Gratitude added: “Feeding your body with love but then also feeding another person who’s less fortunate with love as well…

“I feel like that’s the way the world should work.”
