Vegan meat brand, The Very Good Food Company (VGF), has announced it reached full approval to list on the Canadian stock exchange, TSX Venture.
The move makes it one of the first vegan companies on the TSX exchange.
The Very Good Food Company
The company uses progressive technology to create plant-based meat under The Very Good Butchers brand.
Items in the line include Pepperoni, Very Good Dog, BBQ Pulled Jackfruit, and Save Da Sea Vegan Smoked Salmon.
Growth
Demand for the products is on the rise in both the US and Canada, according to CEO Mitchell Scott.
In a statement sent to Plant Based News, Scott said: “Our Rupert (Vancouver) facility is currently being commissioned with food production planned to commence in the coming weeks…
“As we continue to achieve our business objectives, listing on the TSXV will allow the Company to expand its shareholder base, enhance shareholder value and accelerate the Company’s M&A initiatives in pursuing strategic opportunities.”
It also announced an engagement with Trent Collect to provide communications and investor relations services.
Plant-based ‘milestone’
When VGF announced a successful Initial Public Offering (IPO) last year, it became the second company to go public. The first was Beyond Meat.
At the time, CEO Scott said the company is looking to ‘scale our operations aggressively’.
Since then, its sales have skyrocketed by almost 600 percent.
