Vegan activist Earthling Ed has told Plant Based News he expects 10,000 people to come together in London for the Official Animal Rights March In London on August 25.
The event, which was founded by activism collective Surge in 2016, will feature Earthling Ed and Evanna Lynch as speakers.
The aim of the march, which will take vegan demonstrators from Westminster to Hyde Park, is to end all animal oppression. In addition, it will celebrate the successes achieved within the vegan animal rights movement, but also show solidarity for all those who are still being needlessly exploited all around the world.
‘Excited’
“I am really looking to forward to being at the march again and being with the community,” Ed told PBN. “There will be thousands of like-minded people coming to get to see tangible change.
“I’m really excited to see Evanna Lynch speak. The speeches will be in Hyde park this year – which has more space and more opportunities for the public to hear what is being said
“My key message is to encourage people to come along and not to be scared or anxious about coming on your own. If you come, you are likely to make lots of new friends.”
Part of something important
Ed added: “People have found life partners coming to the marches – it’s a really wonderful vibe, and an inclusive day. You will meet so many like-minded people.
“You will leave feeling like you are a part of something really important, feeling revitalised and invigorated
“One of the major reason this march matters is community building, it fosters a sense of unity. When we come to these events, and we see how many people care like we do, it makes us feel included – it helps us realize that we are not truly alone.”
