The Danish Council on Ethics has published a report called The Ethical Consumer: Climate Damaging
Foods

Fourteen of the Council’s 17 members support a recommendation to

This backs up proposals from UN expert
Professor Maarten Haajer, who this summer called for a worldwide tax on all meat

Haajer, who regularly highlights the fact that livestock creates more greenhouse gases than all transportation combined, said: “I think it’s extremely urgent.

“All
of the harmful effects on the environment and on health needs to be priced into
food products.”
