American T.V personality Tom Bergeron says he’s moving towards a ‘more plant-based diet’.

The celeb, best. known for hosting Dancing with the Stars, made the announcement to his 201,000 Instagram followers.

He posted a picture of a hamper featuring vegan turkey that had been gifted to him by PETA. The basket also contained other plant-based goodies including carrot cake cookies.

The gift is part of PETA’s campaign to encourage people to eat vegan this Thanksgiving. The charity sent vegan food hampers to other ‘famous Toms’ including Tom Cruise and Tom Hanks.

Bergeron’s response

“Challenge accepted, PETA!” Bergeron wrote.

“I’ve truly been enjoying (and my latest physical attested to the benefits of) moving to a more plant-based diet. Looking forward to…gobbling this up.”

‘Challenge accepted’

‘Significant change’

PETA also sent the star a letter. It reads: “Pardon us, Tom, but Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and we need to talk turkey.

“Considering all we’ve been through this year… Just about everyone recognizes that it’s time to make a significant change for human health, the environment, and animals…

“It’s high time that we got back to the basics: plants. We’re asking you to help lead the way.

“Please pardon Tom for Thanksgiving by leaving dead turkeys out of your holiday plans. Instead, gobble vegetables and other healthful, plant-based vegan foods.”
