A host of celebrities including Joanna Lumley and comedian John Bishop are supporting World Meat Free Week [ WMFW].
The event – which will take place from June 11-17 – offers participants support and recipes for signing the pledge.
According to the organization: “We care passionately about the health of our fragile planet and would love your support. By getting involved in World Meat Free Week you’ll be helping to improve your health and sustainability as well as that of your friends, family, classmates or employees. You will reduce your carbon footprint, and help to drive the change needed.”
Transition away from animal products
Plant Based News is a partner for the scheme. PBN Co-founder Robbie Lockie said: “The idea that we can live without meat is an alien concept for much of Western society.
“Initiatives like WMFW are a great way to get people thinking about alternatives and ways they can cut back or cut out animal products completely.
“At Plant Based News we are pragmatists and we understand the challenges many people face in staring the transition away from animal products.
“We are excited to partner with WMFW along with our peers Proveg to help support the drive to see more people going meat free.
