Former Made In Chelsea star Lucy Watson has spoken out about the biggest myths she encounters as a vegan.

The 26-year-old model and actor, who has recently become an ambassador for sports nutrition brand Bulk Powders‘ new vegan collection, talked about protein.

She said: “I think the whole ‘if you’re vegan you can’t get protein’ is the biggest myth,” she told media outlet OK!.

Vegan

She added: “I’ve learned it’s literally in everything. And I think the protein vegans eat is definitely a lot better for you than what carnivores eat. It’s much more pure and nutritious.

“You watch a film like What The Health and it teaches you about the realities of processed meat – all the stuff that goes into it like antibiotics and growth hormones.

“I haven’t got any issues with my health being a vegan. If anything I’m more healthy, even my nails are stronger than ever.”

Preachy

Another vegan myth Watson highlighted was the idea that vegans like to shove their opinions down people’s throats.

“The typical joke is that people say ‘oh vegans are really preachy’ – but it’s like, that’s how movements happen, if people don’t preach others are never going to become aware of the cruelty and are never going to change.

“I actually find that meat eaters are more preachy.

“I only find myself being preachy about veganism in defence of something someone has said.”
