Rock legend Bryan Adams has credited a plant-based diet as the reason he’s stayed slim and youthful.
Adams, who has been vegan for 30 years, revealed the benefits of eschewing from animal-products in an interview with The Mirror.
“I’d love to see a comparison photo of me if I hadn’t taken this path,” the singer-songwriter said.
“My guess is I’d be a lot heavier and perhaps I’d have gone grey. Oddly at 60-years-old, neither has happened, and I can only attribute that to what I’ve been ingesting.”
‘Go vegan’
Earlier this year, the musician posted a picture on social media wearing a shirt emblazoned with the slogan ‘Veganism for everybody’.
He accompanied it with a simple caption, telling more than half a million Instagram followers to “Go vegan.”
Adams regularly posts pro-vegan posts on Instagram. Back in 2017, he spoke about his own experiences with an animal-free diet, stating: “I stopped eating animals including fish when I was 28 and I’ve never looked back. You can get all the protein you need from plants.
“It’s great to see the change that is happening as people embrace a more plant-based diet, but we still have a long way to go. If you want to see your health improve and you care about the planet, go vegan. PS: you can’t be a true environmentalist if you eat animals.”
