Celebrity singer-songwriter Billie Eilish, and her Mother Maggie May Baird, have helped set up the initiative Support And Feed* amid the Coronavirus (Covid 19) crisis.

The organization aims to support LA’s plant-based restaurants who have been ‘forced to close their doors and are suffering as a result of the current pandemic’ by encouraging people to gift order food for those in need.

Vetted organizations and groups who have been ‘greatly impacted’ by the crisis, including first responders, hospitals, senior centers, food shelters, and women’s shelters will then receive the donations – delivered by environmental brand Conscious Cleanup.

Support And Feed are currently working with 11 plant-based restaurants, including Pura Vita, Crossroads Kitchen, By CHLOE, Donut Friend, Cena Vegan, Sun Café, Real Food Daily, Sage Plant Based Bistro, PBJ.LA, Krimsey’s Cajun, and Hinterhof Vegan German Kitchen and Beer Garden.

‘Get through this together’

In a statement sent to Plant Based News, Baird explained how the idea behind Support + Feed came to her: “This started from our family’s concern for the many wonderful, small, plant-based restaurants in LA during this very challenging time. We wanted to support them, and at the same time support people who are in need right now.

“Our first idea was just to order food from a local restaurant and have it delivered to the Midnight Mission downtown. I started to think about how this could be a bigger idea and how we might make it easier for many people to do. I reached out to a group of people who jumped into action to make this happen.”

On Instagram stories, Eilish added: “Swipe up and you can learn more and you can help. We can get through this time together, love you.”

Support + Feed is an initiative created by Billie Eilish & Maggie Baird, Conscious Cleanup, Eat Drink Vegan, JRF Consulting, Two Tree Events, Highrise PR, and The Darkroom
