Celebrity Kristen Bell has reverted from veganism to vegetarianism claiming she ‘needed more calories’ during her pregnancy.

Bell, who is best known for her breakout role in cult show Veronica Mars, claimed the vegan diet wasn’t sustainable for her.

The actress, who has been vegetarian since age 11, transitioned to veganism in 2012 after watching documentary Forks Over Knives.

Bell explained her decision to eat dairy and eggs again by saying: “During my first pregnancy, I was working and it felt like I needed more calories.

“I was pretty conscious of it,” she told media outlet TODAY.

The 37-year old went on to say: “I, personally, very much believe in being a conscientious eater, so when I’m eating dairy and eggs, I like to know they’re coming from a place that has humane treatment.”
