More than four in 10 young adults are ‘worried’ about the environmental impact of eating meat, according to a new poll.
The poll of 2,036 UK adults, which was conducted by Harris Interactive on behalf of The Grocer, found that 38 percent of consumers aged 18-24 either have sustainability concerns about eating meat – or have shunned it from their diet altogether.
The new data also shows that four percent of young adults are either vegetarian or vegan.
Older generation
On the other end of the spectrum, the older generation were ‘more relaxed’ about eating meat.
Of the 55+ age group, only 20 percent said they had environmental concerns.
