Pizza chain Zizzi is launching vegan pepperoni pizza in Sainsbury’s stores across the U.K.

The Zizzi Rustica Pizza Vegan Jackfruit Pepperoni features a tomato base, alongside jackfruit pepperoni and vegan MozzaRisella – the same as the pies served instore. It is accompanied by a mini chilli oil to drizzle.

The pizza, which launches in Zizzi restaurants in 2019, scooped a major PETA prize, being crowned Vegan Food Award Winner.

‘Really proud’

In a statement sent to Plant Based News, Rachel Hendry, marketing director at Zizzi, said: “We know our customers missed their Zizzi Favourites while at home in lockdown, so this partnership is a huge opportunity to launch our first ever at-home offering – bringing amazing flavours from our restaurants to your kitchens, for great times at home.

“We’re really proud of the Rustica Pizza range and can’t wait for Zizzi fans to try them and hear what they think!”

The Zizzi Rustica Pizza, Vegan Jackfruit Pepperoni will launch in Sainsbury’s supermarkets nationwide from September 13, costing £4.50.
