A two-week global vegan baking extravaganza is set to raise cash for pro-vegan charities across the world.
The Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale has been running since 2009, raising more than £250,000 across 23 countries and six continents.
WVBS takes place between April 15-30 and is open to any group, commercial establishment or individual. You do not need to be part of a vegan or animal advocacy group to participate.
Event
The WVBS was launched by Gary Loewenthal and was voted ‘Veg Event of the Year’ by leading vegan media outlet VegNews.
In 2017 ProVeg International took over the coordination of the campaign and are keen to get more people baking than ever.
James Odene, Media & Communications Manager for ProVeg (UK), said: “The WVBS has been growing year-on-year and I am very excited to see all the great events and delicious bakes that are created this year.
“We encourage everyone to get online and to share their treats with us at WVBS and ProVeg UK. Let’s show more people than ever before, just how awesome vegan baking can be!”
To get involved just organize your event during 15 – 30 April and register it at www.veganbakesale.org, it can be as big or small as you would like, as long as your bakes contain no animal products and the proceeds are for charity.
