Popular British pub chain Wetherspoons has welcomed Beyond Meat’s vegan burger to all of its 874 UK locations.
The eatery, which has scooped awards in the past for its plant-based offerings, has replaced its vegan burger which previously featured Meatless Farm’s meatless patty.
Customers will now be able to opt for the Beyond Burger with chopped lettuce and sliced tomatoes in a sourdough bun – or upgrade to a ‘gourmet’ version with red onion, salsa, avocado, and rocket.
‘Innovative products’
According to iNews, Head of Food at Wetherspoon’s Jameson Robinson said: “We are always on the lookout for new and innovative products, to bring further choice and quality to our customers.
“Our Beyond burger offers a great new option for vegans and vegetarians, as well as anyone wishing to reduce their meat intake, which is an ever-growing number.”
‘Delicious taste and texture’
Beyond Meat’s Regional Marketing Director Bram Meijer added: “We’re on a mission to help more people eat more of the foods they love while enjoying the benefits of plant-based protein.
“We’re excited to secure our biggest listing to date and to introduce Wetherspoon customers to the delicious taste and texture of the Beyond Burger.”
