Bristol – which was recently crowned the ‘vegan capital of the world’ – has recently become home to multiple vegan vending machines.

The machines have been popping up across the UK city courtesy of plant-based company Vegan Vend.

The food on offer includes sandwiches and wraps, snacks, drinks, and desserts. It is mostly sourced from local suppliers, including Kind Cakes Mean Bake, and Nakd bars.

The machines were financed by a Kickstarter launched last year, which exceeded its £3,200 target.

“For the first time, a vending machine will fully cater for, but not be limited to those persons following the vegan diet,” the company said on its kickstarter. ” This service will also be suitable for those looking for a healthier lunch or snack option without compromising on flavor”.

“Vegan Vend will be starting its journey in Bristol, UK. We chose here to launch the business because we felt like it was the perfect city to bring it to life in.

“We hope that after we’ve set up machines around Bristol, we can branch out to other cities and set up there so that everybody has access to delicious on-the-go vegan food.”
