Meat alternative brand Tofurky is launching three vegan cheesecakes in the US this Spring.

The family-owned, independent manufacturer released an espresso cheesecake as part of its limited edition holiday feast kits last year. Since then consumers and retailers have been asking for the cheesecakes to be made available year-round.

Tofurky listened and has chosen Natural Products Expo West 2019 – which runs March 5 to 9 – to launch three ‘fan-favorite’ cheesecake flavors.

“We have called the sub-brand Moocho because we felt a creamy, sweet product like cheesecake would be better suited to dairy-inspired branding than the savory, protein-anchored Tofurky brand.” said Tofurky’s CEO Jaime Athos in a press statement.

Single serve packs of Moocho Triple Berry Swirl, New York Style Vanilla and Chocolate varieties will be available from health stores and conventional retailers for $3.99 each from May 2019. Tofurky says that multi-packs will also be available.

In addition to the creation of the Moocho brand, Tofurky has also revealed that frozen Pockets will be rolled out nationally after successful regional testing. Ham & Cheddar, Pepp’ronni Pizza and Turk’y, Broccoli & Cheddar Pockets will be available at select US stores in the spring for $2.99 each.

Like all Tofurky products, the Moocho cheesecakes and Pockets are 100 percent GMO-free, with the company using organic, locally-sourced ingredients where possible.
