Starbucks has expanded its growing vegan selection by introducing a protein-enriched
coffee drink in the US and Canada.

Protein
Blended Cold Brew

The Protein
Blended Cold Brew
comes in both Almond and Cacao flavour, and contains either almond or coconut milk, and plant-based protein made
from peas and brown rice.

The customisable beverage retails for $5.95 USD, contains between 10 and 12 grams of protein per serving and is currently available at select locations in the US
and Canada.

Growing
demand

Starbucks has added a number of vegan menu items – including cupcakes, bagels, and
cookies
– to its menu in response to rapidly growing demand for plant-based
options.

At an
investors meeting in June, CEO Kevin Johnson said: “Plant-based beverages,
plant-based proteins are a choice that many consumers are gravitating towards.”
