From its roots as a pop-up food truck to its second bricks and mortar eatery, vegan pioneer The Cinnamon Snail is on an upward trajectory.

The Cinnamon Snail was America’s first all-organic and vegan food truck. It was set up in 2010, and quickly gained a following – as well as acclaim for its range of delicious and innovative donuts.

The new restaurant in City Acres food hall in Manhattan’s Financial District features a brand new menu. It is open from 8am-9pm daily.

Flavorful

Dishes include Peking Seitan Fries, a range of sandwiches (including Cambodian Crispy Tofu, Gochujang Glazed Crispy Seitan and Maple Mustard Tempeh).

The breakfast menu includes Chipotle Seitan Breakfast Burrito, Monster Style Breakfast Sandwich and Blue Corn Pancakes among other options.

According to founder Adam Sobel: “It’s possible to have extraordinarily flavorful, exciting, nourishing food that can sustain human beings, without having to cause unnecessary suffering to animals.

“Once you eat vegan food that is in fact even yummier, and leaves you feeling better than non-veg food, it becomes very hard to justify continuing to consume animals.”

Locations

New Jersey residents can still enjoy the trademark donuts and other treats from the food truck which still operates in the area.

In addition, there is the original permanent site near Penn Station at The Pennsy food hall.
