Vegan baker Mellissa Morgan (aka Ms Cupcake) – who runs a bustling shop in London’s Brixton – will be hosting an intimate baking and decorating masterclass on January 13, 2018.
It will take place at the Central Street Cookery School in Old Street, London, running from 10:15am until 4:00pm.
At the end of the full-day masterclass, which will have up to 15 students, participants will go home with a nine inch layer cake, as well as a box of 12 cupcakes to share with friends and family.
Mastering the art
According to a spokesperson for the brand: “Ms. Cupcake and her team will help you master the art of vegan baking and decorating in one day.
“You will learn all the tricks and techniques of baking from getting a vegan cake to be light and fluffy and how to replace ‘traditional’ ingredients like eggs, butter and milk.
“We will teach you everything you need to know to ‘veganize’ your favourite recipes and how to apply different methods to different types of bakes.
“At this masterclass, you will learn how to make and decorate: Victoria Sponge Cake, Chocolate Cake, Vanilla Cupcakes, and Chocolate Cupcakes. Plus, you will learn lots of techniques to change these base recipes into even more flavours of cakes.”
Icing
Additionally, participants will learn how to make vegan buttercream icing in a variety of flavours and decorate cakes professionally!
The spokesperson added: “We will teach you how to fill piping bags, use different types of nozzles to get different effects, how to use pallet knives and side scrappers to decorate layer cakes and how to pipe buttercream icing onto cupcakes and layer cakes.”
Tea, coffee, and lunch (vegan) will be provided, and students will take home a Ms. Cupcake tote bag filled with recipes, piping bags, a large cupcake piping nozzle and other gifts.
