A fully plant-based restaurant – also featuring a deli and a market – will open its doors on February 3 in North Park, San Diego.
Anthem Vegan has been a farmer’s market vendor since 2013 which also operated a pop-up – but now will launch its first sit-down eatery on El Cajon Boulevard in a nearly 4,000-square-feet-building.
The deli and market will offer vegan pantry staples. Some items off the menu will be available for takeaway.

According to owner Patrick Murray, the larger kitchen facility has allowed him to re-add popular items from Anthem’s inception to the restaurant’s menu of vegan comfort food, co-developed with Head Chef Troy Oftedal.
Offering old favorites such as sandwiches, wraps, Mexican dishes, and breakfasts featuring plant-based meat alternatives, Anthem Vegan will also be extending its upscale dinner fare, appetizers, salads, and brunch plates – with beer and wine service coming soon.
Murray revealed to San Diego Eater that he has plans to develop a line of house sauces, along with housemade vegan meats and cheeses.
Anthem Vegan will be open from 11am to 10pm.
