A vegan hummus and pita bar will be opening its doors in York, UK.
Humpit – which is a Yorkshire-based vegan food business serving ‘great-tasting, down-to-earth hummus, falafel, salads, and drinks’ – will be launching on Church Street early next year.
This will be the restaurant’s fourth branch, as there are already two in Leeds and one in Sheffield.
Offerings
Diners can choose from three sorts of meal, all priced at £4.50.
A hummus bowl features whole chickpeas parsley, olive oil, and a fresh pita; the loaded pita includes hummus, falafel, fresh salads, pickles, and sauces; and salad bowls can be customized with a choice of salads, hummus, and falafel.
Extra toppings and sides are also available – and among drinks, visitors can enjoy the juice of the day or fresh lemonade.
Diners can also pre-order their lunch by phone, or have the food delivered via Deliveroo.
‘Best street food startup’
The vegan eatery won the Street Food category in the 2015 Virgin Foodpreneur awards – and has been dubbed as ‘Britain’s best street food startup’.
It also secured an investment from a private fund, and owner Jonathan Phillips is now aiming to open six new restaurants in the next two years.
