The book is an online resource filled with advice, a sample menu, and a letter template – to equip students with the tools they need to petition their institutions for better on-campus vegan dining options.
PETA Director, Elisa Allen, said: “Students in the UK are going vegan in huge numbers, and it’s high time university canteens joined the revolution.
“PETA’s accessible five-step guide will help students work with their dining halls to provide vibrant, cruelty-free foods that’ll benefit all students.”
PETA adds: “In addition to sparing more than 100 animals a year a violent and terrifying death, every person who goes vegan reduces his or her chances of suffering from heart disease, diabetes, strokes, obesity, cancer, and numerous other ailments.
“Vegans also have significantly lower carbon footprints than meat-eaters do, as animal agriculture is a major producer of the greenhouse-gas emissions that cause climate change.”
