A vegan European brand will be releasing shoes made out of ‘the world’s strongest and most eco-friendly natural fiber’ – hemp.

Called Bohempia, the PETA-approved company will be using the material, which can be grown in every climate and little environmental impact compared to cotton, in a bid to solve current environmental problems.

A biodegradeable material, hemp doesn’t require pesticides or herbicides, and needs 50 percent less water to grow than cotton.

Shoes

The shoes are also antimicrobial and anti-fungal, as well as completely hypoallergenic.

According to founder Tomas Rohal: “Bohempia makes high-quality hemp footwear that are not only stylish and extremely comfortable but sustainably and ethically made.”

“Today, more than ever, people care about how the things they wear are made,” reads the website.

“We’re doing everything possible to make sure Bohempia shoes are made in a responsible and environmentally friendly way.”
