Vegan football club Forest Green Rovers has launched a T-shirt emblazoned with the word ‘hummus’.
The shirt, which celebrates the FGR’s status as the world’s first vegan football squad, is part of the club’s 1889 clothing line in collaboration with AnyForty.
The 1889 collection is based on the year the club was formed. It features casual items including a t-shirt, polo, and hoodie among others – all in black with a stylized 1889 logo.

“We’re super proud to continue our relationship with Forest Green Rovers by following up our first collaboration last year with a whole new lifestyle brand, 1889,” said Alan Wardle from AnyForty.
“Each 1889 collection, we’ll be featuring a different AnyForty artist collaboration. As Short’s first designs went down so well with the fans, we felt the perfect artist to kick off this collection with was Sydney’s very own Dale Bigeni.
“Dale’s fine bold lines, clever detailing and his tattoo influenced style of drawing is a slightly darker and edgier progression from Short’s more light hearted, fun, character driven artwork from our first collection, yet doesn’t feel too far departed from the solid flat colours and style we know the FGR fans have enjoyed.”
