A vegan fashion show is returning to London this Summer for its second outing.
Bare Fashion, the UK’s only animal-free fashion show, will feature catwalk shows, workshops and more than 100 of the best independent and well-known brands.
Vegan fashion and beauty
The catwalk will showcase a range of innovative new vegan and sustainable materials including vegetable latex, pineapple leaf, organic cotton and cork.
According to organizers, last year, the catwalk featured a gold Pinatex biker jacket from Altiir, Alice Vandy’s bright and bold dresses, bamboo silk dresses, and jump suits made from GOTs-certified organic cotton. This year, the catwalk will feature 30 looks from high street to high end, including garments made from recyclable plastic, Tencel and Orange Silk – all worn by vegan models.
In addition, organizers have teamed up with top names in vegan beauty – the show’s official hair partner is Paul Mitchell, while Kat Von D is the catwalk make-up sponsor.
Beyond the catwalk
As well as shows, there will be clothing on offer to purchase, including men’s streetwear by Piilgrim, shoes by Blanlac and Koi Footwear, and sustainable underwear. Beauty products will also be available from Skyn ICELAND and Made by Coopers among others.
Blogger and influencer Marta Canga will host a vegan fashion panel featuring model and activist Kay Lovelle, and Sascha Camilli, author of Vegan Style: Your Plant Based Guide to Fashion, Beauty, Home and Travel. A vegan beauty panel will be hosted by influencer, Nicole @VeganBeautyGirl who will be joined by renowned make-up artist Em-J, who has worked at London and Paris Fashion Weeks.
Also on offer will be makeovers, a dining area and a DJ. VIP ticket holders will also receive a slice of One Planet Pizza, rosehip spritz from Sacred Spirits, unlimited Miiro Ice Cream, access to the Paul Mitchell Hair Styling Stations and to a VIP lounge. They will also receive a goodie bag worth more than £50.
Celebrating vegan fashion
“Bare Fashion is a celebration of vegan fashion and beauty. BARE stands for Because Alternatives Really Exist – which they really do! – and we are bringing together a selection of them all under one roof,” event organizer, Sarah Lindsay, said in a statement sent to Plant Based News.
“Yes, it’s compassion-led but it is absolutely style-led, too. This show is for anyone interested in creating a fashionable, sustainable, ethical wardrobe and ensuring their beauty products are beautiful for animals and the planet, too.
“Bare Fashion is a wonderful celebration of compassion and fashion, and absolutely everyone is welcome.”
Bare Fashion will take place at the Truman Brewery on Brick Lane on August 10 from 11am-6pm. Tickets cost from £15 + booking fee (Early Bird) to £50 + booking fee (VIP ticket) and are available from here
