Vegan cheesemonger La Fauxmagerie is moving from its current premises in Brixton to a larger store in East London this weekend.
La Fauxmagerie was opened in Brixton in February this year by sisters Charlotte and Rachel Stevens, and stocks a range of cheese from brands including Kinda Co., Tyne Chease, and Black Arts Vegan, as well as breads, crackers, and relishes.
New shop
The store has been hugely popular, with queues often spilling onto the road, so it is moving to new premises four times the size, at 20 Cheshire Street just off Brick Lane. The new outlet opens on July 6 and the Brixton store has now closed.
Customers can now also order from La Fauxmagerie online, and receive their cheese in packaging made from 100 percent recycled materials, which is biodegradable and kerbside recyclable.
‘Overwhelming support’
Announcing the move on social media, the sisters said: “Since our launch in February, you have continued to surprise us with your overwhelming support.
“In just five months we have grown from stocking around 60 cheeses from nine artisanal suppliers to 120 cheeses from 17 suppliers, served over 6,047 wonderful customers, and gotten approximately one million requests for an online shop.
“We have heard all your pleas, and have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to bring you all of the awesome cheeses you deserve. Our new shop is almost four times the size of our current store which means no more having to queue outside the shop.”
