LA-based celebrity chef Matthew Kenney has opened a vegan eatery in London’s Shoreditch.
Called ‘Essence Cuisine‘, the food on offer is both healthy and decadent, according to the vegan chef.
Described as one of the world’s leading plant-based foodies, Kenney is serving food that’s 100 percent vegan, gluten and refined sugar free.
Misconception
The new east London eatery is offering food that ‘maintains a high nutritional profile, and uncompromising ethical standards’, according to the American chef.
He said: “There is a misconception that healthy food isn’t as tasty or decadent as unhealthy food.
“We challenge anyone to take a bite of our raw cakes or raw pancakes and see if they feel deprived.”
The food
Among breakfast dishes, diners will be able to enjoy avocado on seeded bread, raw pancakes with candied walnuts, quinoa porridge, and scrambled porridge with green harissa.
The menu also features raw pad Thai, lasagne, and salads later during the day.
Desserts include a cheese board and a chocolate brownie.
