Vegan cake brand, Bells & Whistles, has made its supermarket debut in the major UK retailer Sainsbury’s.

Priced at £2.75 for a pack of four, the cake bars are free from gluten, wheat, and palm oil, and are available in selected stores nationwide.

Customers can choose from three different flavors: Berry and Cashew, Ginger and Apricot, or Nut Truffle.

‘Indulgent’ treats

“Inspired by a younger generation being underwhelmed by the same old brands, we wanted to amp things back up a little and create an indulgent treat that was Free From yet had all the indulgence you would expect from a cake,” the company’s website states.

“Bells & Whistles believe in good quality ingredients, simple processes, and bold flavors. All our cake slices are under 120 calories each so eating a couple hopefully won’t break the calorie bank!”

‘Amazing and distinctive textures’

In a statement sent to Vegan Food & Living, Josh Boydell Smith from Bells & Whistles said: “We’re delighted to offer vegans, vegetarians and anybody else who loves indulgent treats, slices of deliciousness that can be enjoyed anywhere…

“The slices may be small, but they deliver a whole lot more as we only use the very best ingredients that make each layer explode with amazing and distinctive textures and flavors.”
